New Orders Received
🟢 J Kumar Infraprojects received a Letter of Acceptance for construction of an International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre in Lucknow worth ₹1,184 Cr, to be completed in 24 months from the Public Works Department, Lucknow.
🟢 Vikran Engineering received ₹530.80 Cr orders from MSEDCL for an ADB-funded Power Distribution Enhancement Program covering Nashik (₹235.63 Cr) and Kolhapur (₹295.17 Cr) zones, to be completed in 21 months.
Partnerships, Investments & Acquisitions
🟢 Jash Engineering's UK subsidiary Waterfront Fluid Controls Limited acquired 100% stake in Penstocks (UK) Limited for £5,50,000, with completion expected by June 30, 2026, to establish pan-UK presence and support clients in water utilities. Penstocks (UK) brings 40+ years of proprietary penstock design experience and an existing framework agreement with a UK water utility.
Core Business & Regulatory
🟢 Hindustan Copper reported FY2025-26 MIC production up 9% to 27,421 tonnes, the highest in the last seven years, ore production up 6% to 3.67 million tonnes, with copper MIC sales of 27,367 tonnes the highest in the last 5 years.
🟢 Bajaj Auto reported March 2026 total sales of 4,45,377 units. Domestic 2-wheeler sales up 20% YoY and exports up 21% YoY. FY26 full year sales crossed 51.17 lakh units, making it a record year for the company across both segments.
🟢 NOCIL started trial batches for capacity enhancement in rubber chemicals at Dahej with capital expenditure not exceeding ₹250 Cr, with samples to be sent to customers for approval. The Dahej TDQ antioxidant expansion adds approximately 20% to NOCIL's existing 115,000 MTA capacity, with commercialisation targeted in H1 CY2026.
🟢 Prestige Estates Projects launched Prestige Golden Grove, a 5,120-unit mega township in Hyderabad with a GDV of ₹9,500 Cr spread across 28.6 acres with total saleable area of ~10.36 million sq ft.
🔴 Escorts Kubota announced a tractor price increase (excluding Kubota brand) effective April 15, 2026, with variation by model and geography.
🔴 Tata Steel received a demand notice of ₹1,755.10 Cr from the District Mining Office, Ramgarh, Jharkhand, for alleged excess extraction of 1.62 crore MT of coal at its West Bokaro Colliery for the period FY2000-01 to FY2006-07, with the company planning to pursue legal remedies.
Economy, IPO & Other
🔴 Trump threatened Iran with further attacks on power plants and bridges unless the Hormuz Strait is reopened, warning of severe consequences.
🔴 Indian pharma sector faces a US 100% tariff on patented drug imports unless manufacturers sign a pricing deal or relocate production to the US, with large pharma companies given 120 days and smaller ones 180 days to comply. India's direct exposure is limited. ~90% of its $9.7 Bn in US pharma exports in FY25 were generics, which remain exempt for now.
