ECONOMY
🔴 The Indian Rupee INR plunged to a record low of 87.29 against the USD after Trump imposed 25% tariffs on Canada/Mexico and 10% on China. INR settled at 87.195, falling 58 paise from its previous close.
🔴 Oil prices also jump on supply disruption fears from US tariffs.
🟢 India’s Manufacturing PMI rose to 57.7 in January from December’s 56.4, marking a six-month high. The expansion was driven by strong domestic demand, record job creation, and the steepest export growth in nearly 14 years.
🟢 Gold spikes to $2,818 in US, hits record high on safe-haven buying; Gold jumps ₹400 to breach ₹85,000-mark in domestic market.
